My First Official Gallery Exhibit

During the month of November, the Apple Gallery of the Stokes County Arts Council hosted my first official gallery exhibit.  I hung the show at the end of October and held the opening reception on Friday, November 1.  Several friends, relatives, co-workers, and arts supporters attended the event.  We enjoyed live music and discussions about my artistic style, color scheme, etc.  (Photos from the set up and reception are in galleries on the left column of this blog under the portfolio section.)

Renovated & Updated

Welcome to my newly designed and updated blog.  I am currently framing work for a local fair exhibit and creating a few new paintings for my upcoming gallery exhibit.  I am in my 10th year teaching elementary visual arts, and I have most recently used my artistic and design skills in online social software as well as webpage designing for school and church.  I am a mixed media artist, so I may try my skills at any variety of media, but most of my work uses pen and ink drawing techniques, digital photography, acrylic painting, and some fiber and cut paper art.  Most ofmy work incorporates my interest in texture, pattern, and realistic details that are abstracted for visual effect.  Finally, I am inspired by people around me and always by the Creator's creation.
